Also known as grit sand, AWBS sharp sand is a great value general purpose limestone sand, commonly used for concreting, external rendering, bedding block paving, slab laying and floor screeds. Available to buy in half bulk bags, jumbo bulk bags or 23kg small bags - see our bag size guide below. 

Bag sizes and coverage

Our construction aggregates are available in half bulk bags, jumbo bulk bags or 23kg small bags, which are ideal for smaller projects. 

• A full 850kg jumbo bulk bag will cover approximately 10-12m² at a depth of 50mm.
• A 450kg half bulk bag will cover approximately 4-5m² at a depth of 50mm.
• You'll need approximately three 23kg small bags to cover 1m² at a depth of 50mm.

These measurements are all approximate and do not account for compaction of the sand. Don't forget, you can use our very handy aggregate calculator if you need further help, however please get in touch with your local branch if you need any more advice.
