Bring Your Garden to Life with Decorative Gravel
Value for money, versatile, stylish… these are just some of the reasons why garden gravel is such a great way to give your outside area a new lease of life. From decorative pebbles to slate, from flint to decorative granite, gravel offers a whole host of simple, yet effective, opportunities for creating a fabulous garden.
Highly versatile and stylish garden gravel
Whether you have a large space to play with or just a small area you want to jazz up, decorative gravel lends itself perfectly to any project. A great way to fill in a small area with a complex design – perhaps at the front of your property – garden gravel can create interest and be used to zone off areas. It’s also a great way to frame small areas of grass or flowerbeds. In larger areas, you can make a real impact with creative use of decorative pebbles and running the design theme through from the front to the back of your property can really enhance its overall look.
The natural beauty of decorative gravel
With its natural and simplistic charm, garden gravel is the perfect way to enhance plants and other features in your outside areas. With the array of colours and styles available, including slate, granite and decorative flint, you can easily find gravel to complement the shapes and shades of your foliage, giving a wonderful informal and Zen-like feel to your garden.
As well as being highly versatile, decorative gravel is also cost effective, making it a beautiful alternative to natural stone or porcelain patios in small spaces, for creating a lovely gravel path, or if you’re on a budget for your landscaping project. And, as well as being very low maintenance, it offers the benefit of aiding surface water drainage.
Garden gravel to enhance any outside space
From highly contemporary to traditional, we have a wide selection of decorative gravel to suit all tastes, designs and budgets. For smaller areas, light coloured garden gravel, such as our Local Shingle, Oxford Gravel, White Pebbles and White Cobbles give the feeling of more space and embrace the on-trend pale urban chic. For a more dramatic effect, dark decorative slate, decorative granite and polished pebbles look fabulous in a modern setting and will have a totally different effect when they are wet. Our Polished Black pebble is a superlative choice, as is our stunning Black Granite. If you’re looking for rustic charm, natural decorative gravel and cobbles work perfectly alongside any style. Our Spar Rustic, Golden Spey and Rose Quartz will give a gorgeous warming glow to your garden.
Choosing the perfect decorative gravel
Depending on your project, there are different kinds of garden gravel that are more suited to certain applications. All of our gravel products can be used for decorative garden designs, but if you’re looking to create a water feature or use decorative pebbles around a pond, you’ll need a certain type. However, thanks to our online filter function, this is easy! You simply filter the products for suitability for your project, and you can see at a glance in the AWBS brochure which gravel can be used for water features. For high traffic areas, such as gravel garden paths, we recommend a self-binding gravel for durability.
