A multitude of benefits
The beauty of real wood can transform any garden, but wood needs regular maintenance, becomes slippery when wet and quickly loses its original appeal; rotting, fading and absorbing stains. But Millboard composite decking is completely different. Famed for it's low maintenance benefits, Millboard have taken inspiration from the character of natural timber and created an alternative that improves upon it. Moulded from carefully selected timbers and painstakingly hand-coloured for an incredibly natural appearance, Millboard is as beautiful as hardwood yet designed to outsmart it. If you're looking for more information, we've put together this fantastic article which goes into more depth regarding the long term benefits of using Millboard.
Millboard decking is designed to provide the aesthetic beauty and feel of timber, without the drawbacks associated with genuine wood. As part of this design and manufacturing process Millboard aim to ensure the product is not a cloned or extruded product. Therefore, the boards are moulded from various different Oak pieces and a hand finished secondary colour is added giving the decking boards the variety of real timber. when installing, Millboard recommend mixing the boards to ensure the deck has a desired overall variance to showcase the products character and individuality.
Please note that due to the fact that Millboard is moulded from real wood, and the pressure of the moulding process, there will always be a slight variance in the board’s dimensions, however the boards are calibrated to maintain as consistent a profile as possible.
